Last week, Supermarine pizza in Southampton kindly hosted the Southampton Bloggers gang for an evening of woodfired pizza, wine and catch ups.
I was really keen to go and check out Supermarine anyway as we used to live right across the road from where it is, but moved out just before they moved in! I’d already had my eye on the menu and had it on my list of places to try the vegan options, which I’ve been adding to ever since I went vegan in January this year.
The team at Supermarine were so good to us all; they made a huge effort to make sure there were a few vegan options for the starters, mains and pudding and were mega patient for putting up with heaps of bloggers trying to photograph everything!
The restaurant is in the new Centenary Quay development in Woolston – just a short hope over the itchen bride in Southampton. The development is still being built and only likely to get better and better, but it already has a beautiful courtyard at the front, with space to sit outside and just a 1 minute walk away from waterside views – you can even see across the water to Ocean Village!
Their menu is here, which has a clearly marked list of the vegan options (thanks for making life way easier!) They have a couple of different options for each dish and three different vegan pizzas (including one with pizza cheese which was lush). We got to try two of those on the night and they were really delicious.
The pizzas are cooked in the centre of the restaurant in the wood fired oven which makes the pizza bases super crisp and full of flavour and the decor in the restaurant is really lovely too.
I had such a great evening catching up with some old faces, making some new blogging pals and being part of the Southampton bloggers community.
Has anyone else been to Supermarine? My only regret is moving away before we had a chance to live across the road.. Although I’m sure my bank account is pretty pleased about that!
