As our house buying nightmare slowly but surely draws to a close (hopefully), I find myself more drawn to homeware than I usually am, which is really saying something.
I’ll admit that I don’t rush out and spend the first bits of my paycheck on homeware every month, but I love to look. Drifting in and out of rows of pretty sheets, lush smelling candles and cool kitchen gadgets is my heaven.
On a weekend of very boring errands (buying a new car battery, for one, yuck) I finally managed to get the chance to go and check out the new (ish) Matalan store in Southampton. I was gutted when the old store closed down; it was always a good go to for little bits and bobs for work and a great stop for things to fill our already overcrowded flat with.
Despite a mildly overpowering air freshener when we first walked in (sort of like a flower punching you in the face) the new store is great. It was also a well timed shop as they had a big sale on, including home ware bits. You may have seen from my twitter that I walked off with a new king size duvet set for £11 and some coconut and vanilla tea lights (they put even Ikea smelly tea-lights to shame). When I got home I had another good old nosey online and I’ve put together some of my favourite bits from their current range, all under £10.
